Message from the chairman

Greetings,

Welcome to ANZBIQ’s new website.

It is a great honour to be elected as Chair of ANZBIQ for 2011.

I would like to thank outgoing chair Joanne Thomas for her dedication and hard work, laying the foundations for an exciting period for our organisation.

Now, it is my task as the new Chair, along side our new committee, to continue the legacy and introduce a new dimension to our organisation’s activities.

In 2011 Qatar’s economy is set to grow by a staggering 20 per cent. This presents a myriad of opportunities for Australian and New Zealand businesses and individuals.

And our communities continue to contribute to the creation of this vibrant and diverse country.

The ANZBIQ committee has set out a broad and interesting program of events for 2011 that will provide a mix of networking opportunities and business intelligence updates.

You will find a calendar of events on this website for your reference. Members and guests are welcome to all ANZBIQ events which are made possible by our generous and supportive sponsors in the Australian and New Zealand business communities here.

We are also striving to work with other expatriate business groups in Qatar with a series of networking events.

This year has already been a challenging one for our brothers and sisters in our homelands. Qatar’s Australian and New Zealand communities have joined together to provide support for those affected by the devastating tragedies of the Queensland floods and the Christchurch earthquakes.

This is when an organization like ANZBIQ becomes a key connector in our community.

Whether we share our business network connections or simply just enjoy the camaraderie of all Australian and New Zealand expatriates living in Qatar

ANZBIQ, you can feel like you are always amongst friends.
